It was 20:30 o’clock when Singapore Airlines flight that took us arrived at Melbourne International Airport, the capital of the State of Victoria, Australia. Direct cold air penetrating into the bone when we got out of the airport to the parking lot. The temperature was 7-15 degrees Celsius.

The next day, we start the journey. Our main destination is to go to Phillip Island, a place of tourism and conservation island that is 1.5-2 hours drive from Melbourne. Of course it is incomplete to got to Phillip Island with no drop in the Dandenong Ranges National Park to enjoy the forest and the cool air and attractions of yellow-crested cockatoo, parrots, and a variety of other birds of the area, such as the Corella and Kookaburra. In there, we can feed the birds and enjoy the sensation as a bird perched on the arms, shoulders and even heads.

Not far from the Dandenong Ranges, spectacular views await at Tesselaar Tulip Plantation. The colorful tulips can be enjoyed between September and October in the Tesselaar Tulip Festival held by Dutch citizen who was living down through the generations in the area.

“The climate of this region is like Europe, particularly Holland, allowing tulips grow. In fact, they make a tulip plantations large enough, “said Jenny Na, Market Development Manager for South Asia Tourism Victoria.

In the festival, visitors can see and walk among the flower beds of tulips. A number of competitions and parades, windmills, and people passing by in a typical Dutch dress can also be enjoyed there.

Tulip enjoys not enough, we must continue the journey to Phillip Island. Despite the need to hurry, things could not ruled out stomach. We ate lunch at the Cuckoo Restaurant, European-style restaurant with a buffet serving a variety of foods. Although the European style, the interior of the restaurant decorated with small flags from countries around the world.

Tourism and conservation

After lunch, the journey continues. On arriving at Phillip Island, we went straight to the boat that will take us enjoy the scenery around the island, while leading to an island mostly composed of rocks where about 12,000 seals were.

“This place is the location with the largest seal colonies in Victoria. The climate around this cold island, including sea water conditions, allowing them to live and breed, “said Toni.

Day of the evening, but the temperature of 7 degrees Celsius so piercing, dizziness accompanied by post-wandered blindly in the ocean waves, do not make the trip that day ended. One of the most awaited parade to begin, namely the Phillip Island Penguin Parade, when hundreds of penguins who pair up the coast, looking for a place in between the shrubs and plants along the coast partner, waiting for the morning and then returned to the sea.

We and other visitors sat in the stands at the edge of the beach open. Management has prepared a blanket that can be rented to wrap the body waiting Sitting penguin action.

The silence broke when hundreds of penguins started to arrive and let the voice to call her partner. Like ducks, they walked single file into their respective places.

According to Tourism Victoria data, The Phillip Island Penguin Parade into three major categories in Australia for nature tourism. This place is visited by more than 500,000 visitors every year.

Among the many places the visit in Victoria, Phillip Island was virtually one of the icons. In this place, the natural life of the fauna can be seen directly and more closely. In addition to seals and penguins, there are koala conservation center. This place is built like the original koala habitat to protect this rare animal populations. To facilitate visitors to see koalas, a kind of bridge made of wood through the trees.
